Peavey Electronics is an American maker of guitar and bass amplifiers, electric guitars, and professional audio equipment, founded in 1965 by Hartley Peavey in Meridian, Mississippi. In guitar amplification it is best known for the high-gain 5150, originally Eddie Van Halen's signature amp, and its successor the 6505.

The Peavey 5150 is a 120-watt two-channel all-valve head produced from 1992 to 2004 as Eddie Van Halen's signature amplifier, with 12AX7 preamp tubes and 6L6 power tubes driving its saturated high-gain voice. After Van Halen and Peavey parted ways in 2004 the amp was renamed the 6505. It became one of the defining metal and hard-rock amplifiers.
