120-watt two-channel valve guitar amplifier head

The Peavey 6505 is a 120-watt two-channel all-valve head with five 12AX7 preamp tubes and four 6L6GC power tubes, Rhythm and Lead channels, a shared three-band EQ, and Peavey's Presence and Resonance controls. It is the post-2004 continuation of the 5150 design and a standard high-gain amp for metal and hard rock.

    The Peavey 5150 is a 120-watt two-channel all-valve head produced from 1992 to 2004 as Eddie Van Halen's signature amplifier, with 12AX7 preamp tubes and 6L6 power tubes driving its saturated high-gain voice. After Van Halen and Peavey parted ways in 2004 the amp was renamed the 6505. It became one of the defining metal and hard-rock amplifiers.
