It is the highest tier of Stentor's orchestral range above the Conservatoire and is aimed at advancing and semi-professional players, supplied in full 4/4 size.

The Stentor Conservatoire (model SR1550) is an intermediate step-up violin, hand-carved from solid tonewoods with a solid spruce top and solid maple back and sides, ebony fingerboard and fittings, and an attractive amber-brown varnish. Frequently recommended by teachers for players moving beyond a first instrument, it is supplied as an outfit and offered chiefly in 4/4 with some fractional sizes.

It sits a step above the entry-level Student I and is a long-standing recommendation of school string programs.

The Stentor Student I (model SR1400) is an entry-level beginner violin outfit carved from solid tonewoods with inlaid purfling, good quality pau rosa pegs and an ebonised straight-grained fingerboard. It is fitted with a quality bridge and tailpiece with integral adjusters and supplied complete with bow and case. It is offered across fractional sizes and is one of the most widely used first violins in school string programmes.
