The Stentor Conservatoire (model SR1550) is an intermediate step-up violin, hand-carved from solid tonewoods with a solid spruce top and solid maple back and sides, ebony fingerboard and fittings, and an attractive amber-brown varnish. Frequently recommended by teachers for players moving beyond a first instrument, it is supplied as an outfit and offered chiefly in 4/4 with some fractional sizes.
