The Stentor Student II (model SR1500) is one of the most widely used beginner violin outfits, supplied as a complete set with bow and lightweight case. It has a hand-carved solid spruce top with solid maple back, sides, and neck, an ebony fingerboard, and ebony or composite fittings, and is offered in fractional sizes from 1/16 through full 4/4. It sits a step above the entry-level Student I and is a long-standing recommendation of school string programs.
