Boston is a brand of grand and upright pianos designed by Steinway & Sons and built by Kawai in Japan. Introduced in 1992, Boston pianos use Steinway-engineered scale designs, solid Sitka spruce soundboards, and Steinway-made hammers to offer Steinway-influenced tone at a lower price point than the Steinway & Sons line.
