  • Wuhan China Cymbal

The trashy china that became a studio standard

    Cymbal · China

Wuhan's china cymbals are cheap, loud, and unmistakable, and they appear on so many records that the sound is effectively generic. The 14" and 18" are the ones most drummers own.

  • Epiphone Hummingbird

    Square-shoulder dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar model

    Acoustic guitar · China

The Epiphone Hummingbird is Epiphone's version of Gibson's famous square-shoulder dreadnought, recognizable by its decorative pickguard with hummingbird and floral engraving. The Inspired by Gibson Hummingbird is built with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, a mahogany neck with an Indian laurel fretboard and 20 frets, a roughly 24.75-inch scale, and Fishman Sonitone electronics for amplified use.

  • Wuhan Opera Gongs

    Pitch-bending gongs of Chinese opera

    Gong · China

Chinese opera gongs bend in pitch as they ring — upward or downward depending on the instrument — and are used in pairs for exactly that effect. They have crossed into Western percussion writing as well.

  • Wuhan Chau Gong

    The standard Chinese gong

    Gong · China

The chau gong — a bronze disc with a raised rim and a darker unpolished centre — is the gong most often heard outside the orchestra, and Wuhan's are the ones most widely sold.

  • Wuhan Traditional Cymbals

    Chinese opera and folk percussion

    Cymbal · China

Alongside the drum-set chinas, Wuhan makes the hand cymbals, bo, and opera percussion of Chinese traditional music, which is what the factory existed for first.
