The Excel EXL-1 is a 17-inch single-cutaway hollow-body archtop electric guitar inspired by John D'Angelico's original Excel introduced in 1947. It pairs a laminated spruce top with laminated flame maple back and sides, a set three-piece neck with a C-shaped profile, an ebony fingerboard, and a 25.5-inch scale. A single floating Seymour Duncan Johnny Smith mini-humbucker, a floating ebony bridge, and the brand's stairstep tailpiece give it a woody, articulate tone for jazz rhythm and lead.

A short-scale hollow-body electric bass made by the German maker Höfner, a single-cutaway sibling of the famous 500/1 violin bass. Introduced in the late 1950s, the 500/2 Club Bass shares the violin bass's light hollow body and warm, thumpy short-scale tone and is associated with the early-1960s Beatles/Hamburg era. Höfner continues to offer Club Bass reissues.

A fully hollow, double-cutaway electric introduced in the late 1990s, the Hollowbody II uses a carved maple top and back with a mahogany center block-free hollow construction for an airy, acoustic-tinged voice. It carries two PRS humbuckers and is offered with an optional LR Baggs/PRS piezo system that adds amplified acoustic tones alongside the magnetic pickups.
