Models in series

  • Sequential Prophet-10

    Synthesizer · United States

The Sequential Prophet-10 is a ten-voice, bi-timbral analog polyphonic synthesizer reissued in 2020 alongside the Prophet-5 Rev4. It shares the Prophet-5 signal path with two CEM 3340 voltage-controlled oscillators per voice and a switchable four-pole resonant low-pass filter, doubling the voice count to allow layered or split bi-timbral performance. It ships in a five-octave keyboard version and a desktop module.

  • Sequential Prophet Rev2

    Synthesizer · United States

The Sequential Prophet Rev2, introduced in 2017 as a successor to the Prophet '08, is an analog polyphonic synthesizer available in eight- or sixteen-voice configurations. Each voice uses two digitally controlled analog oscillators (DCOs) and a Curtis analog low-pass filter with switchable two- and four-pole operation, with two layers per program for stacked or split bi-timbral sounds. It is offered as a five-octave Fatar keyboard and a desktop module.

  • Sequential Circuits Prophet-600

    Synthesizer · United States

The Sequential Circuits Prophet-600, released in 1982, is a six-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer notable as one of the first instruments to ship with MIDI; the very first MIDI connection was famously demonstrated between a Prophet-600 and a Roland synthesizer.

  • Prophet '08

    Synthesizer · United States

The Prophet '08, released in 2007 by Dave Smith Instruments, is an eight-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer that updated the Prophet lineage with two oscillators per voice, extensive modulation, and patch memory, reviving the Prophet name for a new generation.

  • Sequential Prophet-5

    Synthesizer · United States

The Sequential Prophet-5, released in 1978, was the first fully programmable polyphonic analog synthesizer, letting players store and recall patches. Its five voices, dual oscillators, and warm sound made it a landmark instrument used across pop, film, and electronic music.

  • Sequential Prophet-6

    Synthesizer · United States

The Sequential Prophet-6, introduced in 2015, is a six-voice analog polyphonic synthesizer designed by Dave Smith as a modern descendant of the original Prophet-5. Each voice has two discrete voltage-controlled oscillators plus a sub-oscillator, a four-pole resonant low-pass filter inspired by the Prophet-5 and a two-pole high-pass filter, with a dual analog/digital effects section, polyphonic step sequencer, and arpeggiator.
