Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive

Compact overdrive pedal

The Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive is a compact stompbox released in 1981. It uses an asymmetrical clipping circuit to produce warm, tube-like overdrive with Drive, Tone, and Level controls, and has remained a long-running core gain and boost pedal across rock, blues, country, and metal.
