Wessex Tubas is a British brass instrument maker founded in 2010 by tuba player Jonathan Hodgetts and based in Andover, Hampshire, with a US distribution arm opened in 2012. It produces an extensive range of tubas, euphoniums, trombones, trumpets, and horns at accessible prices, including instruments based on classic American and European designs and revivals of rare historical instruments.

    The Wessex Chicago-York (TC695) is a 6/4-size C (CC) front-piston tuba built as a handcrafted replica of the famous York 6/4 CC tuba associated with the Chicago Symphony. It has five front piston valves, a 20-inch (500 mm) hand-hammered brass bell, a 0.75-inch main bore, and is exceptionally light for its size at about 10.5 kg (23 lb). It is offered in silver-plate, gold lacquer, or silver with gold fittings.
