Promark

The stick maker that brought oak to the market

Herb Brochstein founded Promark in Houston and was first to bring Japanese white oak sticks to American drummers. Now part of D'Addario, the company is known for the FireGrain heat-treated hickory process and the Rebound and Forward balance families.

Models

  • Promark Rebound 5A

    Drumstick · United States

Promark's Rebound balance family moves weight toward the grip so the stick returns more readily, as against the Forward family, which puts weight toward the tip for power.

  • Promark Classic Forward 747

    Drumstick · United States

The 747 in Japanese white oak is the stick Promark built its reputation on: denser and harder than hickory, brighter on cymbals, and unforgiving of bad technique.

  • Promark Hot Rods

    Drumstick · United States

Hot Rods are a bundle of thin dowels bound with an adjustable band, giving perhaps a third of a stick's volume with a broader, softer attack. They created the category and the name is now used generically.
