Linda Manzer Profile
Linda Manzer is a Canadian luthier widely regarded as one of the finest guitar builders of her generation. Based in Toronto, she trained under noted makers including Jean-Claude Larrivee and the archtop master Jimmy D'Aquisto, and she builds both flat-top and archtop acoustic guitars prized for their craftsmanship, playability, and tone.
She is perhaps best known for her long collaboration with guitarist Pat Metheny, for whom she built a series of remarkable instruments, including the famous 42-string Pikasso guitar. Manzer is also known for design innovations such as her Wedge body, which gently tapers the depth of the guitar from bass to treble side to improve comfort and projection for the player. Her instruments are sought after by professional players and collectors around the world.
